Today we're opening Vistapane to everyone. It turns the TVs in your lobby, hallways and meeting rooms into one system you run from a single admin page, on hardware you already have, without sending your content to anyone else's cloud.
Why we built it
Most buildings end up with three or four separate systems for their screens: a signage service billed per screen, every month; a casting box in each meeting room; a separate tool for emergency messages; and tablets by the doors that need yet another subscription. Each has its own login, its own invoice and its own way of failing.
Vistapane puts all of it on one server you own. Your content stays in the building, screens keep playing when the network drops, and the price doesn't change when you add your next screen.
What's in it
-
Signage
Images, video, PDFs, dashboards and live widgets for clocks, weather, countdowns and news. Playlists, multi-zone layouts and schedules down to the day and hour.
-
Screen sharing
Presenters open one web page, type the PIN on the TV and share. Nothing to install, and the video goes straight from the laptop to the display.
-
Emergency alerts
Take over every screen, a group or one hallway with a full-screen alert or a banner, in one click. Alerts show even when screens are off for the night. They're for on-screen messages and don't replace fire alarms or other life-safety systems.
-
Room signs
Tablets by the door show if a room is free, live from your Microsoft 365 calendars. Book on the spot, check in, extend or end a meeting.
Also in this release: signage on Microsoft Teams Rooms, joining Teams meetings from a room's screen, a 3D floor plan of your buildings, proof of play, two-step sign-in and daily automatic backups.
One license per server
Signage is usually priced per screen, per month, and casting per room, per year. Vistapane is one yearly license per server, and every screen, room sign and screen share on that server is included. Your 150th screen costs the same as your first.
Networks with no internet at all can use an offline license. See the pricing details.
Built to stay up
- The server installs as a Windows service, starts with the PC and restarts itself if it stops.
- Displays save their content and keep playing through server restarts, network drops and reboots.
- The server backs itself up every day, to a second drive or a network share.
- Your content and screen shares stay on your network. Works fully offline with an offline license.
