Vistapane Panel privacy policy

Vistapane Panel ("the app") is an Android kiosk app that shows a Vistapane server's display page on a tablet. The organization that runs the tablet also runs that server on its own network. This policy covers the app only.

What the app collects

Nothing is sent to the app's developer. The app has no analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking. It has no developer-run servers and contains no third-party code.

What the app stores on the tablet

The app stores these things on the tablet itself:

• the Vistapane server address that was entered or found during setup
• a random ID made when the app is installed, which the server uses to recognize the panel
• a one-way hash of the exit PIN, if one was set
• the display page's saved settings and cache

This data is excluded from Android cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer. Erase panel settings in the app's settings menu deletes all of it, and so does uninstalling the app.

What the app sends, and where

The app connects only to the Vistapane server that was set up on it. That server belongs to the organization that operates the tablet. The app sends:

• its random ID
• the screen size and browser version
• the actions people take on the panel, such as "Book now" or "Check in"

To find the server, it broadcasts one message on the local network, which contains no personal data.

The app turns off Android WebView's Google Safe Browsing checks and WebView usage statistics, so page addresses and usage data aren't sent to Google by the app.

What the display page shows

The page on screen comes from the organization's Vistapane server, and that server decides what it contains. For example, a meeting-room sign can show room bookings from the organization's Microsoft 365 calendars. That data is controlled and kept by the organization that runs the server, not by the app's developer. Please direct questions about it to that organization.

Children

The app is made for workplaces and isn't directed at children.

This website

vistapane.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

If you send the quote form, we receive what you type into it (your name, organization, email, phone if given, location, screen and room counts, the options you pick and your message). We use it only to reply to you and prepare a quote, and we keep it in our own records on Cloudflare. We delete it on request, and we delete leads that never become customers after 2 years.

Vistapane server license check-ins

This section is about the Vistapane server software your organization licenses, not the Panel app. A server with an online license checks in with license.vistapane.cloud about every 10 minutes. It sends the license key, a random install ID, the organization and computer name, the Vistapane version, and how many screens are paired and online. We also see the public IP address of the check-in. We use this to run licensing, give support and, for Premium customers, monitor screens and servers. Your content, calendars, screen shares and passwords are never sent. Offline licenses never check in. The license agreement has the details.
