Emergency alerts

Take over every screen, a group or one hallway with a full-screen alert or a banner, in one click.

Alerts take over screens instantly with an emergency or information message. They show even when a screen is outside its operating hours.

Send an alert

  1. Go to Alerts → Send an alert.
  2. Pick a quick preset, or write your own headline and instructions.
  3. Choose the level:
    • Emergency (red, flashing)
    • Warning (orange)
    • Information (blue)
    • All clear (green)
  4. Choose Full-screen takeover or Banner across the top. A banner leaves the normal content playing underneath.
  5. Pick the screens or groups. Choose all screens for a building-wide alert.
  6. Optionally turn on Play alarm tone on screens, and choose when it ends automatically: after 5, 15 or 30 minutes, 1 or 4 hours, 1 day, or when you clear it.
  7. Click Send alert now.

The quick presets are Evacuate, Severe weather, Shelter in place, Lockdown, Fire drill, Notice and All clear. Each fills in the headline and instructions, which you can change before sending.

Clear an alert

Active alerts are listed on the Alerts page. Clear one at a time, or click Clear all alerts to end every active alert on every screen. Then send an All clear so people know it's over.

Prepare before you need it

  • Practise. Send a Fire drill or Information alert to one screen, so you know the steps and how it looks.
  • Bookmark the Alerts page on the phones of the people who would send an alert. The admin works on phones.
  • Check sound. The alarm tone plays through each screen's speakers, so the TV or PC must have its volume up. Browser players need the display setup script for sound to play automatically.
  • Group screens by area, so you can alert one floor or one building.
